Journey begins

So I´m in Bonn, Germany trying to get a grip of a wierd keyboard. The briefing starts tomorrow for my assignment to Cambodia. I´m feeling equal parts excitement and apprehension - too much caffeine and not enough sleep. I packed too much and had to leave my diary and torch behind with Astrid who kindly came to the airport with me. However, I did not have the biggest bag. Victory for me!

Not sleeping well these days but I live in hope of a restful night!

Keep well

What do you mean? Germans can't write or what? Did you ever try a French one?
Well, wish you all the best - for your stay in Germany and for Cambodia - and don't think too much. It will all work out perfectly well.
Can you imagine what an Irish immigrant on his way to California must have thought when he faced the Gran Canyon? That was probably worse. Cambodia is flat...
Anyways. Skipp the Lonley Planet - I give you about 9 months and you will be able to write one yourself!
Take care!
And watch out for small little animals like me :-) (scorpios)
Big hug!!!
Ari

Perhaps, for those of us too drunk to think of asking when we last saw you, you could outline exactly what is will be that you shall be doing for the UN in Cambodia? Other than that, enjoy yourself and stay away from warm chicken salads which are a one-way ticket to Dehli-Belly!

Thanks guys! I´m glad to see that I am not writing in a void. I imagined my entries from far away echoing in the distance. You have reduced the echo. Anyway Ari, the German keyboards are wierd - full of strange letters and umlauts!
Kieran I´m going to be a UNV intern in Information and Communication. I´ll tell you more about what that means when I find out myself.
And Pablo, muchas gracias cari. No sabia de que te fuiste de Francia. Que haces? Como estas? Espero verte algun dia!
